Yogacharini Deepika (Sally Saini)

Yoga teacher Trainer

Deepika connected with the Gitananda Yoga Tradition in 1993 at 17yrs old when she took part in her first Yoga class, taught by someone who was sharing their knowledge of this tradition. Many years later in 2006 Deepika made it to ICYER to complete the 6-month YTT course under the guidance of Ammaji Meenakshi Devi Bhavanani and Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani which was completely life changing for her. Deepika returned to the Ashram many times over the years to complete the 3000 hours advanced Senior Achariya Training finally by 2017, there are only around 30 teachers globally trained to this level in the Tradition. This was done in-between establishing two Ashrams with Yogachariya Jnandev and raising 3 beautiful sons! Deepika has been sharing and teaching Gitananda Yoga to her local community for the past 15 years and running Yoga Teacher Training courses alongside Yogachariya Jnandev.

In 2018 Deepika was awarded the Yoga Chemmal title for her service to the Tradition and Yoga.

More recently Deepika has been able to explore her passion in Pranayama which had a deep transformational effect on her lungs which were in a poor condition due to severe life long asthma and hospitalisation many times as a child. With the blessings of the Gurus Deepika is now running a 500hrs Pranayama Yoga Teacher Training with Dr Ananda Balyogi Bhavanani, son and successor of Swami Gitananda Giri himself.

Deepika is also Director of Yoga Care Wales CIC bringing yoga to peoples lives as a therapeutic tool for those in more need than most, vulnerable or disadvantaged in some way. Deepika also enjoys classical Indian music and plays sitar to Bhajan or Kirtan!
